    Stacking Pins & Caster Wheels

    • How do I connect multiple crates together?

Stack crates vertically or horizontally to ensure stability and protection for your albums, follow these detailed steps:

    Materials Needed:

Empty crates (with pre-drilled holes for stacking pins)

    Aluminum stacking pins

    Protective sleeves for albums

    Steps:

    Prepare the Crates:

    Ensure each crate is empty.

    Align the Crates:

Place the crates on their sides with the open ends facing out.

Make sure the crates are aligned properly, side by side.

    Insert Stacking Pins:

Firmly insert the aluminum stacking pin into the hole at the bottom/back of each crate.

Ensure the pins are securely in place to provide stability when the crates are rotated and stacked.

    Rotate the Crates:

Carefully rotate the attached crates so that they are upright with the open ends facing outwards.

    Prepare the Albums:

Place each album in a protective sleeve if not already done. This will prevent damage during stacking and handling.

    Load the Crates:

Place the albums vertically inside the crates, like books on a shelf.

Ensure the albums are snug but not too tight to avoid warping.

If you lay albums flat, make sure they are stacked evenly to avoid bending.

    Distribute Weight Evenly:

When filling the crates, distribute the weight evenly to maintain balance.

Heavier albums should be placed at the bottom to provide a stable base.

    Stack the Crates:

Start with the heaviest crate at the bottom.

Avoid stacking too high; a general rule is not to exceed a height where the top crate is difficult to reach or handle safely.

Check the stability of each crate as you stack them.

    Additional Tips:

Avoid Overloading: Do not overload the crates beyond their capacity, as this can damage both the crate and the albums.

By following these steps, you can stack crates on their sides in a way that maximizes stability and protects your valuable album collection.

    • How do you insert the caster wheels?

To add caster wheels to your crates for easy mobility while ensuring stability and protection for your albums follow these detailed steps:

    Materials Needed:

Empty crates (with pre-drilled holes for caster wheels)

Caster wheels (4 per crate, with brakes on two of them)

    Protective sleeves for albums

    Steps:

    Prepare the Crates:

    Ensure each crate is empty.

Place an empty crate with the open end facing down on a hard, flat surface.

    Insert Caster Wheels:

Locate the four open holes on each corner of the bottom of the crate.

Firmly insert a caster wheel into each hole. Ensure that the wheels are pushed all the way and are securely in place.

Insert the caster wheels with brakes on the same diagonal line (e.g., front left and back right corners) to provide balanced braking.

    Check Stability:

Once all wheels are inserted, check that the crate sits evenly and that the wheels rotate and lock properly.

Test the brakes to ensure they hold the crate firmly in place when engaged.

    Prepare the Albums:

Place each album in a protective sleeve to prevent damage during stacking and handling.

    Load the Crates:

Place the albums vertically inside the crates. Ensure they are snug but not too tight to avoid warping. Provide enough room for your fingers to easily search through the albums to find your favorite selection.

If you need to lay albums flat, make sure they are stacked evenly to avoid bending.

    Distribute Weight Evenly:

When filling the crates, distribute the weight evenly to maintain balance.

    Additional Tips:

Avoid Overloading: Do not overload the crates beyond their capacity of 60lb, as this can damage both the crate and the albums.

By following these steps, you can effectively add caster wheels to your crates, making them mobile while maintaining stability and protection for your albums.
